 +The NNP Post
 +Vol. 26, June 2024

+Welcome back! Nearly 7 months since our last update but we have had so many very happy developments since then. We are fully moved into our new home in McDonald, PA and our little girl, A. Bezek-Nixon, is doing amazing. Hoping to see all of you in the new spot sooner rather than later, but for now wanted to provide some updates on NNP development.
 +
 +NNP Structure Changes
+I am excited to introduce some new concepts and float some ideas about how to make our gatherings and gaming more comfortable for all the lil' to-be gamers running around and their families.
 +
+There are some adjustments to the point system for scored events moving forward:
+Attendance at an in-person or online NNP will still give 0.5 points
+Winning an event on your own (or as part of a team in a team-structured event ) will now give 1.5 points
+All Individual wins scored to this point are now considered "Legacy Wins" in the standings, still worth the 1 point they were given
+You now have the option to form a "cluster" per event during an NNP. Clusters are groups of players that are essentially splitting the points if they win. Players must declare they are in a cluster before any matches are played in an event. Players can change clusters for each individual event. Each player in a cluster must play at least one full iteration of that event. Said another way, in a tournament based event, each player in the cluster must play at least one match. In a longer one-off event (think a big board game), each player in the cluster must take at least a few turns or actions -- they have to have a presence in the game. Regardless of who ultimately wins an event for a cluster, all players of that cluster will get 1 point. Players in a cluster cannot be playing in an event at the same time. Players cannot be in multiple clusters in the same event. Players in a cluster can switch off as much as they would like, but not during a match/game in the tournament-style setting. This allows parents or really anyone who wants more social time outside of the competitive gaming atmosphere to switch off, and allows for tournaments to span multiple days as players can have a partner if they cannot attend the full NNP.
+Winning an event that is in the Hall of Fame (any game that has been played at more than 5 NNPs) will still net 1 extra point to an individual/team, players in a cluster will receive a 0.5 point bonus instead
+Playing an Epic game still gives 1 point, but winning it will give an individual 1.5 points or cluster members 1 point
+The Overall Championship 2 point bonus will now be given to the player who scores the most points at an NNP, taking in all of the HoF/Epic/Cluster modifiers
+Additionally, multiple players can now be Overall Champions of an event (no more "No Clear Winners")
+I would like to welcome everyone old enough to read this email into the Pro's division of the NNP system! Players under the age of 9 are considered Juniors and will have their own, more age-appropriate events at NNPs. I have lots of interesting ideas about Juniors events for in-person NNPs but if any of you all have any, please share them with me! Looking for fun activities that can build a little competitive spirit and excitement while making sure everyone still has a ton of fun along the way.
 +
+We will now be hosting future NNP events out of our new home in McDonald, a nice middle-ground between Wellsburg and Pittsburgh. We are very fortunate to have lots of space for Juniors to take naps and Pros to sleep over if they would like. More information on all of that to come!
 +
 +NNP XLII
+Although I do not quite have a date for NNP 42 yet, I am excited to announce several features of it!
+Normal weekend time frame, probably starting a little later on Friday. We would have space to have folks stay over Friday and Saturday night
+XBox System Link and other console games, Marvel United board game tournaments, (weather permitting) some lawn games, our first run at Juniors events, and the Pros/Juniors crossover Snails Pace Race event (Juniors spin the wheel to move the snails, Pros bet on the winners)!
+Will likely have some lead-up pre-party online PC games
 +18XX Cup
+The Conductors (as we call ourselves) have completed 31 online games of more than 25 18XX Titles through 18xx.games. Thus far, C. Perrone is steaming away with it, with 103 cup points. D. Nixon is in second with 75 cup points, and P. Hicks and myself are fighting for 3rd with 63 and 69 cup points respectively. C. Perrone has also had the best ($13582 in 18USA) performance in a game! The 2024 18XX Cup will be scored and additional NNP Points awarded for participation and winning the cup after NNP 42 wraps and after all four Conductors have had an equal count of chosen titles.
 +
 +Discord/Online Play
+Just a friendly reminder that the Discord is out there for those that want to stay in touch with the group more regularly! I will also be looking to start the Mega Man 8 Bit Deathmatch League back up online maybe a day a week - let me know if you are interested! Our server (if you have not already joined) can be found at discord.gg/MGAXrH8bVk.
 +
+That is all the bullet points I can muster for now. Hope everyone has a great week!
 +-J. Nixon
